Spring Gardens have teamed up with Severn Valley Medical Practice to pilot a Patient Advice Liaison Officer for 12 months (May 2018 - April 2019).

Our PALS officer is Sabita Thukral who will be a front of house point of contact for people who have general enquires about their care, or the services offered at Spring Gardens Group Medical Practice / Severn Valley Medical Practice and other services within Worcestershire.

Sabita will be able to assist patients with setting up and using on-line access; assist with general enquiries; and host self-management sessions for a selected cohort of patients including:

Obesity - Toddler and Parent session looking at foods and how to read the labels

Healthy eating - weight management

The importance of exercise

Stress management

Importance of taking medication and wastage of medicine

Menopause with BME women

Language translation service

Men's health

The sessions started in June 2018 and we have already received positive feedback from a patient:

A patient who has been attending the well-being sessions was given guidance on making lifestyle changes. Since attending the sessions the patient has lost 3 ibs in 2 weeks and has stated that they feel great and very happy.  When walking they are now able to walk with ease.  Not only did the patient note that they feel well physically, but they also noted that their mood has improved and they are making much healthier choices.
