COVID Vaccination Update 04.1.21

  • Please be aware that the practice will contact patients as soon as we have clinics to be able to book patients into.
  • These clinics are being organised across the 10 practices in Worcester City and covering a large patient population, not just our practice.
  • As it stands as of today the cohorts to be invited currently are patients aged over 80, care home staff and residents and NHS frontline workers.
  • We do not have reliable occupation data held on medical records and so welcome staff to contact the practice if they are registered with us and believe they are eligible for the vaccine.
  • We will make sure all patients that we can tell from medical records that are in the current eligible cohorts for the vaccine will be contacted via letter, phone or text.
  • We will have to stagger this across the next coming months and so the practice has decided the fairest way to this is on older age first for our patient cohort aged over 80.
  • We have been informed that vaccines being ordered have been delayed however we hope to offer reassurance that the practice and doctors are in constant discussions to make sure the practice can be involved with delivering clinics as quickly as possible.
  • We hope to have more information soon regarding housebound patients and how this will be delivered.
  • We are awaiting further instruction from the joint management team for rolling out invites as clinic dates are unable to be confirmed due to not  having confirmed delivery dates of more vaccines arriving yet.
  • Turnpike House Medical Centre 37 Newtown Rd, Worcester WR5 1HG is going to be used for these clinics to be facilitated for the time being.

Please see the latest press release from yesterday regarding the roll out of these vaccines. Local clinics are now being adapted to accommodate these changes directed from MHRA and NHS England. We are contacting all patients that are affected by the changes to the 2nd dose of the vaccine.

All the staff at Spring Gardens  wish you all a peaceful and safe New year.

Spring Gardens Group Medical Practice is aware of the announcement today by the Department for Health and Social Care that anyone aged 50-64 has now been added to the eligible cohorts for this year's flu vaccine. We are now working to order additional vaccine supply and plan for more flu clinics in December. We ask that patients refrain from ringing the practice with inquiries on this and we will communicate the new arrangements for flu clinics in the near future.
