Travelling Overseas?

What you need to know before you go.

Travel Vaccination Service.

The following vaccinations are available for travel on the NHS :

  • Cholera

  • Diptheria

  • Tetanus

  • Poliomyelitis

  • Typhoid

  • Hepatitis A

Start preparing for your trip at least six weeks before you go.

At the Practice we provide a private clinic for travel vaccinations that are not available on the NHS. Travel Advice and Vaccination appointments require a deposit of £20.00 per person. These appointments can only be taken in person, so please visit the Practice in order to book. Currently, the deposit can only be paid in cash. The full amount will be refunded if the appointment is attended.

Please be aware that all patients included in the travelling party will require an individual consultation. There is an extra charge per each necessary vaccine, which will be discussed at the initial Travel Advice appointment. Some vaccines are ordered on a private prescription as they are not included in the services provided by the NHS, and these vaccines will incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.

A majority of the requested vaccines have to be pre-ordered in advance, which is why we ask you to prepare at least six weeks before you go. This gives us time to order the required vaccines, organise a 2nd appointment with you to receive the vaccines, and then some extra time for the vaccine to work. Your second appointment to receive the vaccine needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel.

Please note, we can only administer vaccines that are advised by our nursing team. This will all be discussed in your appointment, as the team will need to discuss your travel arrangements including which countries and areas within those countries that you plan on travelling to.
